Correspondence, 1849-1854, of William C. Jennings of Rockingham County, Va. concerning the attempts to prove the claim of the Jennings family to a share in the $40,000,000 estate left by William Jennings of England who died intestate.

This collection contains five boxes of office files from Dudley Jensen, professor of Physical Education (later Kinesiology) at the College of William and Mary. These files include materials on departmental faculty, students, and committees; plans for activities and facilities at William and Mary; newspaper clippings; sample certificates for varsity athletes; and a copy of Jensen's History of Physical Education Hi-Lites (1993).

The collection contains a single letter from John Randolph Bolling to an Annie S. Reid.

Johnson from former and fellow Civil War soldiers concerning the burning of Chambersburg, Pa., conflict between Jubal Early and William Mahone, and the Kilpatrick-Dahlgren Raid. Correspondents are C.B. Dahlgren, John Warwick Daniel, Jubal A. Early, James W. Eldridge, Wade Hampton, Henry Brainerd McClellan, William E. Peters, and John H. Worsham.

Note from David Johnson to Capt. Mayo Carrington suggesting that Carrington give him a check since he is going to Richmond.  The reverse has notations on wheat and tobacco with names of people and money amounts.  February 27, 1861.

Primarily letters, postcards, and receipts, mostly from the period 1921-1923 of an African American family living in Lightfoot, Virginia. Family members included Signor Bradby, Elizabeth Bradby and Annie Bradby. Some papers relate to Willmore Jones, John Jones, and other Jones family members. Several transactions with the firm of J.A. Bozarth of Williamsburg are present.
