Bishop James Madison Letter to James Breckenridge, 1805 December 20
Letter; 20 December 1805, Bishop James Madison, Williamsburg, to James Breckenridge, Botetourt County, Va. Concerns defending Madison against a claim to deprive him of land surveyed near Guyandot Falls by Breckinridge. Asks Breckinridge to discount fee at next College [of William and Mary] settlement. Also concerns Madison's Map of Virginia (1807) and a new method of taking latitudes.

Caspar M. McElfresh correspondence
The collection contains one letter from Caspar M. McElfresh's located in Williamsburg, Virginia at William & Mary, to his sister, Ariana McElfresh in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The letter contains McElfresh’s opinions and experiences during his first year at William & Mary. He likes his fellow students, his professors and how they teach their classes. He also discusses his hopes to have his two rifles at a later date.

Civil War correspondence, passes and orders relating to 1st Lieutenant William H.E. Morecock of the 32nd Virginia Volunteer Regiment. Legal documents of William H. E. Morecock, mostly concerning the lawsuit in Williamsburg and James City County, McCandlish vs Warburton, during 1851 to 1853. Correspondence and financial records of the Board of Visitors of the College of William and Mary while William H.E. Morecock was Secretary of the Board, 1877-1890.
Robert Morris Diary
Diary of a schoolteacher and farmer who lived in James City County, Virginia as well as in Williamsburg and in Warwick County, Virginia. He rented the President's House at the College of William and Mary. Includes comments on church meetings, schools, local people and weather. Also includes lists of students attending his schools in Williamsburg and Warwick County.

The notice states that he is to receive, in the name of William & Mary, dividends due as of January 1, 1804. The notice is signed by President Bishop James Madison and professors St. George Tucker (law), Robert Andrews (math), and John Bracken (Grammar School). The Temple Seal is affixed to the document.

Petitions to Remove the College from Williamsburg Collection
Box 1 contains photostats of petitions and supporting documents, testimonies, and memorials on the subject of moving the College of William and Mary from Williamsburg to Richmond, Virginia. The petitions and testimonies were collected by the Colleges and Education Committee of the Virginia General Assembly as part of its action on a bill proposing to move the school.
Box 2 contains newspaper accounts of the episode.
