John and George Humphreys Law Suit Filing
Law suit filed in Warren County in the state of Mississippi for the June term of the circuit court in 1866. The plaintiffs of the case were John C. and George Wilson Humphreys. Their complaint was against the company of Wells and Green. Their charge is that an agreement was made in January of 1864 for the sale and delivery of 8,000 cypress logs but that the logs were never delivered. The plaintiffs were seeking damages in the sum of $100,000.00.

Photocopy, 1761-1782, of a memorandum book used by John Littlefield, of Wells, Maine which mentions The Stamp Act, Boston Tea Party, resolves of the Wells, Maine Committee; and notations concerning soldiers. It was later used, 1790-1823 and 1845, for recipes for various medicines, legal forms, and Littlefield family records.
