Captain John Winston Land Grant
700 acre Ohio land grant to Captain John Winston, after serving 3 years in the U.S. Army, Virginia Line. Signed by Thomas Jefferson, President of the United States, James Madison, Secretary of State, and Henry Dearborn, Secretary of War.
According to an article in the Nov. 1, 1944 issue of The Flat Hat, the grant was written for John W. Price, William & Mary Class of 1823. The surname Price, however, does not appear on the document.

Survey of the property as outlined in the grant was completed on 18 January 1793. The signature on the deed, issued by the Governor of the Commonwealth, Henry Lee, is from William Price, Esq. and is dated Augist 20, 1794.
