Collection of letters, October 1968, written to Craig White, a terminally ill patient in the Children's Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts by members of the armed forces mostly serving in Vietnam. Craig White's story was in the Armed Services paper which let people know that he was saving postcards and letters as a hobby while in the hospital. Many of the letters describe areas in Vietnam where the soldier was stationed and explain their jobs.

Winfield Scott Letter to W.C. Preston
Letter, 1842 November 7, written by General Winfield Scott to W. C. Preston, a politician. In the letter, Scott recounts recommending Preston to the president for a position in Paris, and goes on to discuss the presidential nomination of the Whig party, for which he was a possible candidate. Scott expressed a desire to be nominated only if the Whigs stood a small chance of winning. The letter was written in Washington, D.C.. A transcript of the letter is included with some annotations.
Winfree-McIlwaine Family Papers
Contains letters, photographs, and other material related to the Winfree and McIlwaine families of Petersburg, Virginia. The bulk of the letters are addressed to Dr. John Winfree and are handwritten with envelopes. Most of the photographs are tintypes and pertain to the McIlwaine family, including photographs of William Baird McIlwaine, who attended the University of Virginia and became a doctor. Most of the letters have to do with business affairs, predominately of the Winfree family.
