One letter from John Brown of Philadelphia to his brother, James Brown. The letter concerns life in the military. Brown describes the conduct of Benjamin Logan, Colonel of the Kentucky County, Virginia militia, the sale of Brown's property on Potts Creek in Virginia, and the possible resignation of General Arthur St. Clair from the army.

Scope and Contents One buckle once owned by George Wythe. It was converted into a brooch. The buckle is of a silver-colored metal and has forty-three square-cut ruby-colored rhinestones or stones. There are spaces where three are missing. It is generally believed the stones were added after Wythe's connection to the buckle. The central bar of the buckle is also missing, though the sockets for it remain. A modern steel pin assembly has been soldered onto the back. Images are available at...
