Scope and Contents
One buckle once owned by George Wythe. It was converted into a brooch. The buckle is of a silver-colored metal and has forty-three square-cut ruby-colored rhinestones or stones. There are spaces where three are missing. It is generally believed the stones were added after Wythe's connection to the buckle. The central bar of the buckle is also missing, though the sockets for it remain. A modern steel pin assembly has been soldered onto the back.
