James Lawrence Cabell Account Book
Account book, 1869-1889, of Doctor James Lawrence Cabell, professor of anatomy and surgery at the University of Virginia. Includes his accounts as treasurer of the University of Virginia Chapel fund, as physician to professors at the University, and his personal accounts. The volume was later owned by Cabell's executor, Edward B. Smith. Includes a check in the amount of $1,014.33 from J.L. Cabell to Maj. Edward B. Smith, October 3, 1878.

Ledger sheet from a blacksmith, Robert North Cainan of Baltimore County who presented charges for services he rendered to the estate of Jacob Knight, now deceased. Among the multitude of services listed is one which charges the Knight estate for "taking a collar of a negro" of the 23rd of September in 1797.

This collection consists of one letter written from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by N. Cairns to Hugh McCalmont of Belfast, Ireland concerning business conditions in Brazil, the effects of the suppression of slavery and the slave trade had in Brazil, and its effects on commerce.

Camp Peary collection
Collection of materials relating to Camp Peary when it was formed as a Seabee training center for the United States Construction Battalions during World War II. Materials include postcards, information sheets, pamphlets, blank stationery, military dog tag, menu cards, "Bee Lines" and "Peary Scope" newsletters, ephemera, and a red satin pillow cover with gold fringe.
Camp Penniman Panoramic Photograph
Copy of a panoramic photograph of Camp Penniman near Williamsburg, Virginia, taken in 1918. Camp Penniman began as a military base during World War I, then became part of Cheatham Annex, which became part of the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station.
The same photo is part of the Williamsburg (Va.) Area Ephemera Collection, 1858-2015 (Mss 1.09).

Camp Penniman Photograph
A large photograph of Army soldiers from Camp Penniman, Virginia. The title on the photograph reads, "Enlisted Detachment Ordnance Corps U.S.A. Camp Penniman, Va. Dec. 1918." Seated in the center of the photograph are the officers of the detachment along with a canine mascot to their right.
Camp Roberts (Ca.) Congratulatory Notes
Contains a selection of brief handwritten notes from numerous United States Army soldiers undergoing basic training at Camp Roberts, California. They are all written to a fellow soldier at Camp Roberts. Many name the recipient as "Bob." Written during October of 1943, the letters are informal and consist of reminiscences and well-wishes, as the soldiers were about to graduate and go their separate ways.
Camp Upton, Virginia letter
A letter sent by a man named Andy, a solider during the Civil War, to his cousin. Andy writes that his unit recently moved into enemy country, and that their scouts captured a man from South Carolina. He goes on to say that he is paid "well" and details how others in his group are paid, as well as how much he plans to send home.
