Boush Plan of Norfolk Map Copies
Four copies of a 1762 map detailing land that was surveyed for a Mr. Samuel Boush. The land was apportioned into lots to be sold and was located in the borough of Norfolk adjoining Smith's Land, Church Street, and a creek flowing out of the Elizabeth River. The original map is held by the Library of Virginia.

Letter, 20 December 1805, from Bishop James Madison, Williamsburg, to James Breckenridge, Botetourt County, Va. Concerns defending Madison against a claim to deprive him of land surveyed near Guyandot Falls by Breckinridge. Asks Breckinridge to discount fee at next College [of William and Mary] settlement. Also concerns Madison's Map of Virginia (1807) and a new method of taking latitudes.

William E. Wiatt Account Book
Account book of William E. Wiatt kept in Gloucester and Mathews counties, Virginia containing accounts, 1861-1874. Includes a record of books lent to soldiers of the 26th Virginia Infantry Regiment August 1862-September 1863 and of marriages, 1856-1881, performed by Wiatt mostly in King and Queen, Gloucester and Mathews counties. There is a list, 1869-1870, of students in his school in Gloucester County and his accounts indicate that he also worked as a land surveyor.
