Virginia Emory Letters
Two letters to Miss Virginia Emory from Richmond, VA from a Joe and Joey. They may be the same individual, but the envelope of one of the letters sheds some doubt. The letters are informational in that they detail duty stations in Florida and highlight the importance of morale for the soldiers preparing to go to battle in World War II and the role correspondence had in maintaining high morale.

Virginia Land and Company Share Certificates
Three company shares issued to Samuel Myers of Richmond Virginia spanning the years 1811-1836. The stock shares are for the Kennebec Bridge, Newburyport Turnpike Corporation, and the Bank of Virginia. One share sold to A. L. Warner of the Richmond Library Company in March of 1844, and one stock certificate from the Virginia Land and Loan Company sold to W. S. Harris 15 April 1891.

Virginia Military Institute Cadets' Anniversary Ball Collection
Program for a "Cadets' Anniversary Ball...to be given by the Corps of Cadets of the Virginia Military Institute, on the Evening of the 5th of July, 1858. Lists the President, L. Wilber Reid, and 36 names of the managers. Handwritten note at the bottom, "Compliments of Cadets J. R. Be[g]an, R. T. Washington." Includes two admission tickets, one for supper and one to the Ball Room, plus a card entitled "Engagements" with line 2 (of 20 lines) "with dear Ludie-Bob." Possibly a dance card.
Virginia National Guard Photograph Album
The collection consists of a photo album filled with photographs and newspaper clippings associated with a visit to Fort Monroe by the Roanoke medical detachment of the 246th Coast Artillery of the Virginia National Guard. Few of the photographs are labeled with more than a date, and some depict travels beyond Fort Monroe. The album also contains signatures, addresses, and thoughts of friends of the owner of the album.

The Virginia Nittoli Matish photographs contains photographs of Virginia Nittoli Matish and members of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Images include the Pi Phi house, as well as scenes of Virginia Beach and a William & Mary graduation taken place during the late 1960s and early 1970s. A description of names and locations have been provided by Matish and is included in the collection.

Virginia probate inventories of enslaved people
This collection contains nine Virginia probate inventories listing the assets of several estates, including enslaved men and women. Each inventory lists the names of enslaved persons, their gender, and an approximate age range, usually "between 12 and 50 years of age." One of the inventories lists property owned by a woman.
Virginia Quitrents Collection from 1704-1705 [Photostats]
Negative photostats of longhand transcripts of the 1704 Virginia quitrent lists for twenty counties. The lists give the names of landowners and acres held, with occasional comments on absentee landholders. Originals located at the Public Records Office, London, England.
