Received his letter and he forgot to say if it would be worth while for him [JG] to ask any of the National Democratic Com[mi]tt[ee] if they would lend a hand; maybe that would give them too much knowledge; seems the labors of both their lifetimes could fail for lack of a small sum; with his great knowledge he could unit the Irish people; now is the time and he [JT] is able; needs money; feels for the first time man's inhumanity to man. 2 pp. ALS.
