Thanks for the interesting letter; couldn't use it in his little history but will preserve it for future possibilities; nothing [in the book] about his father's presidential term will offend him, except the limited space he could devote; was in Richmond when a public dinner was given to Mr. Webster but had no invitation so visited President Tyler instead; is glad Gov[ernor] Wise is doing a biography of Pres[iden]t Tyler. 2 pp. ALS. Including AN by John Tyler, Jr. endorsing and summarizing letter. 1 p.
