Scope and Contents This collection is composed of 69 Property Tax Books and 3 Land Tax Books for James City County, Virginia, 1866-1948, and 42 Property Tax Books and 2 Land Tax Books for Williamsburg, Virginia, 1865-1927. Primarily letters, postcards, and receipts, mostly from the period 1921-1923 of an African American family living in Lightfoot, Virginia. Family members included Signor Bradby, Elizabeth Bradby and Annie Bradby. Some papers relate to Willmore Jones, John Jones, and other Jones family members. Several transactions with the firm of J.A. Bozarth of Williamsburg are present.
