John E. Boswell Collection
Gay Student Support Group Records
This collection consists of two folders of materials relating to the Gay Student Support Group.
Folder 1 contains documents relating to the formation of the group and includes a proposal, reports from faculty advisor George D. Greenia, correspondence from Greenia to local media outlets, fliers for events, meeting schedules, and "A Practical Guide to Telling Your Folks (And Others)," written by Greenia.
Folder 2 contains newspaper clippings about the group.
George Greenia papers
Materials relating to George Greenia's tenure at William & Mary, including his archive of gay rights history: newspaper articles, email correspondence, Faculty Assembly minutes, documentation and correspondence on benefits for domestic partners, and policy drafts.
Jon Gilbert Fox collection
The Jon Gilbert Fox collection contains photographs, newspaper clippings, theater posters, essays, and ephemera relating to LGBTQ+ history, events and political activism.
Lawrence D. Griffith papers
College of William & Mary. Lesbian and Gay Union Records
This collection contains three folders of materials about the Lesbian and Gay Union at the College of William and Mary. It includes fliers for events, meeting schedules, correspondence, funding proposals, a packet of materials from the 1986 Gay Awareness Week, and materials received from student groups at Virginia Tech and James Madison University. It also includes a copy of the by-laws of the Lambda Alliance, an early gay student group at William and Mary.
Ralph White papers
Collection includes correspondence, news clippings, and photographs documenting the life of Ralph White in connection with his employment as a senatorial aide of Sam Nunn and subsequent firing due to his sexual orientation in 1982. Correspondence includes a letter of recommendation from Senator Nunn prior to White's firing and a photograph of White with senator Carl Levin.
Student Organizations collection
The Student Organizations collection contains fliers, announcements, and programs for various student organizations at William & Mary. The organizations include academic clubs, arts groups, Greek social organizations, religious organizations, student athletic associations, and other groups.
