H. Allen Equipment Lease Document

Content Description One sheet document showing the lease of equipment from Lt. H. Hayes to H. Allen of Company F of the 17th Regiment of the Confederate Virginia Infantry at Brooks Station, Virginia in June of 1863. Allen leases one shirt, blouse, three pairs of drawers, two pairs of shoes, four pairs of stockings, 11 forage caps, one knapsack, four haversacks, and ten boot straps.

John and George Humphreys Law Suit Filing

Content Description Law suit filed in Warren County in the state of Mississippi for the June term of the circuit court in 1866. The plaintiffs of the case were John C. and George Wilson Humphreys. Their complaint was against the company of Wells and Green. Their charge is that an agreement was made in January of 1864 for the sale and delivery of 8,000 cypress logs but that the logs were never delivered. The plaintiffs were seeking damages in the sum of $100,000.00.
