J. M. Hooker Sworn Statement

Scope and Contents Sworn statement of J. M. Hooker, Commonwealth Attorney for Patrick County, Virginia, stating that he was a student at the College of William and Mary for two years with Herbert S. Larrick of Frederick County, Virginia and that during the 1892-1893 session, Larrick served as janitor to one of the literary societies. The statement was taken and signed by R. E. Woolwine, deputy clerk for Patrick County. The statement is also signed by Hooker.

Scope and Contents The collection includes Rawles' 1922-1923 student handbook within which are handwritten notes and her class schedule, a panoramic photograph of the student body for 1922-1923, and her 1923 Colonial Echo, which she used as a scrapbook.  The scrapbook includes images of women students at W&M.  There is also an unidentified artifact which features the names of players and games of the 1922-1923 varsity football team.

Scope and Contents Included in the scrapbook are photographs, newspaper clippings, class schedules, report cards, dining hall passes, letters, dance cards, ticket stubs, announcements of events on the campus and various additional ephemera related to Doyle's time on campus.Of note are the "friendship" pages, which were completed by Doyle's friends and classmates. Scope and Contents The collection includes three items: Driver's Certificate of Distinction from William & Mzry, dated June 14, 1906, for having passed the required examinations for his American and Virginia History class, a pamphlet for "University of the Air," an invitational track and field meet under the auspices of the U. S. Naval Air Station, dated June 27, 1942, and an example of an order acknowledgement card for Driver's business of selling "Fine Virginia Foods" at a store on Duke of Gloucester Street.
