Eight ledgers, 1897-1916, 1917-1937, 1949, 1952, 1959, 1960, 1963 and 1964 of the Peninsula Bank Williamsburg showing business records including individual accounts and minutes of the Board.

Peninsula Bank was also known as Peninsula Bank and Trust, then later became Crestar Bank and Crestar became SunTrust Bank.

Mss. Acc. 1994.92 has been added to this collection.  Two newspaper articles, undated, on the history of the Peninsula Bank.

Ledgers, 1835-1843 and 1866-1873, of a farmer kept in Rockingham County, Va. The earlier account book includes accounts with free blacks [William Wanser and William Cook (formerly W. Canada)].

Accounts, 1790-1791, of Pollard & Martin, merchants, of Amherst County, Va. which also includes a ledger, 1785-1790, of an unidentified merchant.

This collection contains a letter, 1809 September 15, from Thomas Mann Randolph to Thomas Jefferson as well as a ledger recording business transactions of "Tuckahoe" plantation, including records of Tuckahoe Coal Mining Company. The letter is autographed and signed by Randolph with an endorsement by Jefferson.

Ledger "B" (MsV Ame29) contains accounts concerning the estate of John Tate (Samuel Finley, executor); daybook (MsV Ame 31) contains an inventory , 1813, of goods put into partnership with William Shields and A. Shields and a manuscript arithmetic copybook, 1832; and ledger, 1842-1842 (MsV Ame33) contains notes, 1851-1867, concerning a fruit orchard.

The latter volume lists foodstuffs and goods given out to workers which they often paid for by work. Includes accounts with free blacks.

Account book of an unknown merchant, probably from Sussex County, Virginia.  Some accounts include people from Isle of Wight County, Virginia and Surry County, Virginia.

The Timberneck Farm Ledgers collection contains 11 ledgers including records of estate in relation to Timberneck Farm in Gloucester, Virginia as well as doctor's ledgers. The collection also includes school notes, essays and a Gloucester Charity School ledger.

Ledger, 1823, of William Fairbairn which includes a record of marches made with a [military troops] from Augusta County, Va. The volume also includes carpenter's accounts (recording coffins constructed) and farmers' and laborers' accounts.
