Doris Vargo postcards
Three postcards depicting the Sir Christopher Wren Building on the William & Mary campus. One postcard depicts the front of the Wrent building and is addressed to James H. Ackerson. Another postcard is addressed to Alan Ackerson and shows the back of the Wren building. Both postcards are hand colored, stamped and dated September 1937. One postcard shows an illustration of the front of the Wren building on one side while the other is void of correspondence.
Richard A. Velz Photographs and Flat Hat Event Menu
The collection includes a dinner menu from a Flat Hat banquet on May 30, 1933. (Issue Vol. XXII, No. 28. It also includes several photographs of groups of men. Velz was a member of Phi Kappa Tau, Alpha Kappa Psi, and Pi Delta Epislon. There is also a photograph from a W&M event, probably Commencement.
Venable Family Papers
Chiefly letters, 1801-1809, received by Samuel Woodson Venable of Prince Edward County, Va. Correspondents in the collection incude his brothers, Abraham Bedford Venable, Richard N. Venable and William Lewis Venable. Subjects include tobacco prices, buying slaves and growing hemp.
Vergilian Bimillennium Celebration Records
Acc. 1980.022 contains a scrapbook from the Vergilian Bimillennium Celebration held at the College in 1930. Includes photographs, clippings, a program, a script, and correspondence. The scrapbook measures 9" x 11".
This collection also includes programs from the celebration of the classical Roman Poet Vergil's 2000th birthday at the College of William & Mary. The inventory for these records is available in the box list section of this finding aid.
Paul R. Verkuil Papers
This collection contains awards, diplomas, certificates and other material related to Paul R. Verkuil, who served as President of the College of William & Mary from 1985-1992. Included in the papers are Verkuil's bachelor's degree from William and Mary, a congratulatory letter to Verkuil from Robert F. Kennedy, a photograph of Verkuil with Warren E. Burger, Chancellor of William and Mary, and his law degree from the University of Virginia.
Vermont Brigade at Battle of Dam No.1 Letter
A single 10 page letter from a member of the Vermont Brigade describing the Battle of Dam No.1, specifically the Brigade's action during the Peninsula Campaign on April 16, 1862.
Vest and Hansford Ledger
A business ledger kept from 1859-1861 by William W. Vest and Richard Hansford, merchants operating in Williamsburg, Virginia. Entries show Vest and Hansford's business dealings with the College of William & Mary and the Public Hospital.
Dorothy Vick Diary
Diary, 1931, of Dorothy Vick, a sixteen year old woman living in Alta Vista, Iowa. Vick attended a Catholic school and attends her local church most Sundays. Entrires are typically a few sentences long and deal with the events of that day. Includes entries about dances which she attended, going to confession at her church, movies that she saw, and her relationships. Vick often writes that she wishes that she could write what she truly thinks and that she wishes she could lock her diary.

Raymond W. Vincent Letters
Letters, 1963-1966, of Raymond Vincent to a woman named June. He is training on Kessler Air Force Base in Mississippi. Vincent is also a drummer and mentions that the gets his own room because of it. He also mentions in the last letter that his orders have been cancelled.

Virginia Associated Research Campus (VARC) Records
The collection includes publications, grant proposls, an audit report, minutes of the governing committee, and other material documenting the Virginia Associated Research Campus (VARC) of the College of William and Mary. The largest group of records (Accession 1991.099) includes material related to grants and contracts, buildings, personnel, ledgers, correspondence, manuals, insurance, audit, and other operations of VARC. It is 20.4 cubic feet in size and is currently unprocessed.

Also includes examinations, 1900-1906, in admiralty law given by Hughes at Columbian University (now George Washington University). Robert Morton Hughes (1855-1940) was chairman of the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners from 1910-1923.

The Virginia Clark and Tillie Clark papers contains papers and notebooks belonging to Martha Washington College students Virginia Clark and Tillie Clark. Papers include classroom notes, booklets from the Locker Easy Writing Method System, poems and short stories.
A note on names, Clark is occasionally spelled with an “e” for both students. Tillie is sometimes spelled with a "y" instead of an "ie."
