Spark from chimney set fire to roof. Self was absent. Saved few pieces of furniture and books. Yard is strewn with burnt pages. Lost twenty years of labor in homespun. Cream pot she was preserving as relic. Anxiety for sister's health. Enclosed is S.T.G. Tucker's check for $500.
