Mail so uncertain mode of conveyance that supposes this will get to hand first. Uncertainty about election until got to Amherst Court. Learned conduct of Bailey recoiled on his head and rendered Tucker’s promotion more certain. Took up pen in store full of people. Self fears influence of Amblers etc. as to Winchester....
