His friend (schoolmaster) Mr. Reterick, is ill but becomes more popular as a teacher and his school is full. Had thought of removing. Expects the Amblers. Jacqueline Smith answers questions but does not talk. Water in cellars from boiling spring. Big hailstorm. A mountain slide about 15 miles from here.
