I inquired of Captain Walker, if he knew that Gentlemen's determination about the purchase of those two Negroes. Mr. Stark delivered him a letter for me the day before he sent to church. The Negroes were hired very low and if they had been set up for sale, I do not think they would have reached the price you asked.
