The students have serenaded Peachy and Judge Christian with a band of tin pans and horns, and draped the statue of Lord Botetourt in black crape with an inscription "even the mighty dead mourn the downfall of the college." The night of the election Mr. Saunders refused the presidency and resigned his professorship, but under pressure...
