One advertiseing card is for a Clipper ship sailing to Bavaria. These cards seem to be aimed mostly toward shipping cargo and items rather than passengers and all advertise a speedy delivery to their destinations. There are some duplicate advertisement cards within this collection.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: Two handwritten letters with accompanying typescripts detailing the circumstances of the death of George Tabb by gunshot wound caused by a Mr. Sovereign. The shooting was over a business transaction dispute concerning cattle. Tabb was shot at Fort Sumner in Texas and brought to Las Vegas for treatment of his wounds. Two page land grant issued to Thomas Read on 18 September 1782. This land is recorded as number 14,340 and is for 740 acres in Charlotte County, Virginia. Survey of the property as outlined in the grant was completed on 18 January 1793. The signature on the deed, issued by the Governor of the Commonwealth, Henry Lee, is from William Price, Esq. and is dated Augist 20, 1794.

Ledger kept by Susan Prentice, owner, along with her husband, of the Cole Shop, a gift and book store located across the Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1950. The entries of the ledger include every item sold, cost of the items, both invoice and sale price, and the daily profit of sales. She also provided a total of net profit/ loss for each month.
