Scope and Contents

The records of the College of William and Mary student Honor Council include trial and disciplinary hearing files, publications, fliers, lists of members, procedures, and other administrative information. The Honor Council records provide sporadic documenation of the body's work and procedures. Significant portions of the records are restricted.

Conditions Governing Access:

The following accessions are restricted: Acc. 1982.053, Acc. 1983.113, Acc. 1989.133.

Box 2 of Acc. 1980.028 is restricted and closed until 2026.

Acc. 2011.227 is restricted and is closed until June 1, 2015. Consult a staff member for details. Historical Note:

The Undergraduate Honor Council investigates and hears alleged violations of the College's Honor Code. The Council consists of twenty-four members of the undergraduate student body, eight from the sophomore class, eight from the junior class, and eight from the senior class. Members must be in good academic standing and may not be found guilty of an Honor offense or serious Judicial offense.
