The collections contains the following: Correspondence, 1877, 1881 (Letter written by Floyd Hughes to his father discussing his examinations and the snow in town, 1877 Mar. 2; Letter written by Benjamin Ewell to Robert W. Hughes [Floyd's father?] regarding Floyd leaving the College, 1877 Apr. 21; Letter written by Benjamin Ewell to Robert W. Hughes regarding his Doctor of Laws degree, 1881 May 9; Letter written by Benjamin Ewell to Robert W. Hughes regarding a tribute from the faculty), 1881 May 17 Report of Scholarship and Attendance for Floyd Hughes, 1877 Feb. 1 Resolution from the Faculty at the College of William and Mary conferring the degree of Doctor of Laws on the Honorable Robert W. Hughes, U. S. Judge of the Eastern District of Virginia. Signed by W. G. Jones, Secretary and Benjamin S. Ewell, President. Affixed to the resolution is the Temple Seal, which includes the phoenix but not the Latin wording. Memorial Resolution from Alumni, 1908 Memorial Resolution from Gamma Chapter House, Pi Kappa Alpha, College of William and Mary, 1908 Memorial Resolution from Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity's Supreme Council, 1908 Jan. 15 Memorial Resolution from the Junior Class at the College of William and Mary, 1908 Jan. 24 (signed Wilfred E. Roach, Robert M. Perkins, J. Lesslie Hall, Jr. - Committee of the Class of '09) Of note is the Temple Seal affixed to the front page in orange. "The College of William and Mary in Virginia" is in Latin and placed in a circle around the Temple. Title page for An Elementary Treatise on Analytical Geometry, 1869 (stamped "The Library William & Mary College, Williamsburg, Va.; blank leaf likely from same book with "Floyd Hughes, William & Mary College" handwritten in ink).
