Upset by Mr. Gilbert's losses; Mr, Peabody and Mr. Tucker have made Maury & Latham a good consignment; he is pleased about it; exports are much less than they were the previous year; Val[entine] Byron is still very sick, but he [JM] has not lost hope; John Mather is back from India and asked about him [WM]; received a letter from Mr. Parker explaining why he has not sent the vessels he was supposed to; Ann is visiting Allerton; Rutson is home on vacation;Mrs. Maury has a cold; he enjoys his bathing; the Druggist makes a good report on him [WM]. 2pp. ALS Including T's of ALS, 2pp.
