1-flat wood carving of a duck. The duck is painted red and has a white eye and smile painted on the face of the duck. "#1 SPRING '82/ BAT GIRL" is painted in white along the body of the duck. There is an oval hole carved into the body of the duck separating "SPRING" and "'82." There is a string attached to the oval hole by which the duck can be hung and displayed. The duck was created by a member of the Mu Upsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at the College of William and Mary. The Mu Upsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on the campus of William and Mary on February 7th, 1976. The duck measures approximately 13in. and is in good condition. There is chipping of the wood along the oval hole on the front and at the top and bottom of the oval on the back. There is also chipping of the wood along the edges of the duck. There is a series of black stains starting at the duck's eye, continuing through the tip of the "R" and "L" of "BAT GIRL" and ending at the bottom of the duck. Gift of Elizabeth Young. UA 2014.118.01
