Scope and Contents
J. Tucker, Whitehall, to Admiral Sir Geor[ge] Rooke News from Holland about the progress of the war. The French are delaying the Treaty of Ryswick [Rijswijk]South Holland.until they hear of the outcome of the siege of Barcelona and Pointis's West India Expedition. A vessel arrived at Rochelle with news Pointis had attacked Jamaica, near Port Royal. Hopes Mr. Neville will come in time. Notes that Lord Peterborough is dead. Has heard from George St. Lo that the Virginia fleet arrived with Rear Admiral Benbo (John Benbow). 3 pp. ALS.
