Scope and Contents
An original monochrome lithographic print of Thomas Millington's "William and Mary College at Williamsburg, Va." on wove paper. Dated 1840.
The lithograph depicts William & Mary's Historic Campus, including the Brafferton, Wren Building, and President's House. In the foreground of the print, men in formal attire socialize in the Wren Courtyard, among cattle and the original statue of Lord Botetourt. This lithograph is often referred to as simply the "Millington Print."
At the bottom margin, the image's title is printed, followed by a short description: "This View is respectfully inscribed to the President and Faculty, the Visitors Alumni and Students of that venerable Institution by their very obedt. Servt. / Thos. Ch. Millington."
