Note written by J. W. Wright in upper left corner: "Lines: From Corine west to the sea, built in 1688. (it had existed to some extent in 1672). rebuilt 1706 From Meise west to Espiene built in 1692. The Lines of Waes constructed in 1702, left on Ft. Rouge and right in Antwerpt then S.E. through Liere Diest Halau along the Grete river to Namur via the Meuse. These were 137 miles long"
