Scope and Contents

A wood block (6" x 1") of the word "machine" used by Ambrose Henkel and Co. on broadsides advertising the machine carding of wool in Shenandoah Valley around 1813; a woodcut (2 5/8" x 1 3/4") depicting a dog; a woodcut of a zebra; a woodcut of a duck with duckings (2 1/2" x 1 1/4"); a fox ( 2 1/2" x 1 1/4"); and a boy receiving a book from a man (2 1/2" x 1 3/4") 6 items.
