This collection consists of two boxes of material created and collected by Judith Ewell, a professor of History at the College of William and Mary between 1971 and 2004. It includes papers Ewell wrote in college and graduate school; conference papers and programs; teaching materials from her year as a Fulbright Lecturer in Venezuela; correspondence about her publications; and contracts and other administrative material regarding her appointments at William and Mary.

Account book, 1833-1861, of William Faber, miller, Nelson County, Va. Concerns flour mill, sawmill and blacksmith work. Includes list, 1853-1859, of slaves hired out.

Papers, 1846-1860, of William Faber, merchant and justice of the peace of Nelson County, Va. Chiefly accounts but includes a deed of trust for slaves.

This collection includes various material from faculty organizations including the Christian Faculty Fellowship, Faculty Club, Faculty Forum, and the South Africa Ad-Hoc Committee.

Collection includes annual reports, 1982-83, 1984-85; correspondence and memos, 1982-85; indirect cost recoveries, 1982-84; list of faculty members and  years when they were awarded grants; policy and principles for faculty research grants; summaries of grants made by the committee, 1982-85.

Letters, 1819-1846, to Henry Fairfax, merchant, Dumfries, Prince William County, Va. Most concern money owed to Fairfax. Letter, 1 November 1827, from James Osbourn is written on the back of a printed circular entitled "Proposals for publishing . . .Good News from a Far Country . . . ." Includes letter relating to the hiring of a slave Burwell and another letter concerning the illness of Burwell's wife; and letter, 1828, written by William B. Tyler.

Account book, 1887-1900, containing accounts of an unknown person with farm laborers.  Possibly located in Charles City County, Virginia.

A hand drawn plot outlining the placement of a proposed canal boarding the south section of a farm, near their pen. Additionally, notes regarding the James River- Kanawha Canal's progress in different sections of constructing the canal. Points mentioned are Rutherford's Mill and Lesley's Bridge, both locations just West of Richmond, Va.

Account book, 1909-1911, of an unidentified farmer, Williamsburg, Va. Includes accounts with the College of William and Mary and with Lyon G. Tyler.

Farm Account book of an unknown farmer, probably from the Fauquier County and Loudoun County area of Virginia.  Some accounts for the government during the Civil War era.

Account book, 1886-1894, of an unidentified farmer which includes notes on English history.  Location is possibly Albemarle County, Virginia.

Papers, 1831-1903, of Thomas P. Knox, his daughter Mrs. Janet P. Fauntleroy, her husband Charles M. Fauntleroy, their daughter Janet Knox Fauntleroy Harrison, her husband Powell Harrison and other family members. Letters primarily discuss family life and conditions at various towns in Virginia, including at Winchester, Charlottesville, and West Point. Letters also discuss agriculture, the Civil War, female social life, and other.

Journal, 1853-1854, of an unidentified merchant at Salem [now Marshall] Fauquier County, Va. which was also used as an expense book, 1906- 1933.

Journal, 1859-1861, of an unidentified merchant at Piedmont Station and Milldale, Fauquier County, Va.

The collection contains papers documenting the lives of the Fay Parr family. The collection also includes Williamsburg ephemera and memorabilia. Other materials contained in the collection includes family photograph albums, press photographs of Williamsburg residents as well as buildings, newspaper clippings of events in Williamsburg, Virginia as well as publications from Williamsburg and other places.

Papers, 1840-1906, of Peter W. Ferrell of Danville, Virginia. Includes correspondence, 1860-1873, concerning family news, debts, and the shipping of staves. Correspondents include his brother James O. Ferrell, a teacher at the Kentucky Military Institute, Farmdale, Kentucky.; his brother-in-law John M. Sutherlin of New Orleans, Louisiana; and various companies in Halifax County, Virginia.
