Peninsula Bank was also known as Peninsula Bank and Trust, then later became Crestar Bank and Crestar became SunTrust Bank.

Mss. Acc. 1994.92 has been added to this collection.  Two newspaper articles, undated, on the history of the Peninsula Bank.

Scope and Contents Minute book of members of a group of unchartered banks in Virginia.  Names of banks and delegates appear in the minutes. Minutes appear to reflect the unchartered banks' response to a 1816 code to prohibit bank notes from unchartered banks.
