Manuscript Hebrew lexicon, circa 1860's, by Rabbi Isaac B. Seixas, owned by (?) Doggett, Richmond, Virginia. Hebrew words listed in one column with English synonyms in another one.

Handwritten note in front of book, "John M. Doggett, Richmond, Va....1888." and "this MS Vocabulary (which I found among the ruins of my dear father's library)...seems to have been presented to him by Rabbi Seixas the author at a time when such works were hard to get in slave-holding Virginia."

Photocopy of diary, 1899-1911, of Anthony Morris Leafdale, which concerns his service in the U. S. Army Signal Corps (including travel from Fort Walla Walla, Washington via San Francisco to Hawaii, the Philippines and Japan and return to the United States), difficulties in finding employment, work in Denver, Colorado, and marriage and life on a farm in Nebraska. Includes poetry.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: A copy, possibly written 1675-1686, of an Entry Book of Warrants relating to Virginia, Carolina, Ireland, etc. in the time of Charles II. An April 9, 1677 entry appoints someone to protect the people in Virginia from the Indians. Bacon's Rebellion was in 1676.Typed label on inside cover states "from the collection of Sir W. Betham, Ulster King at Arms, half russia." Sir William Betham (1779–1853) was an English herald and antiquarian who held the office of Ulster King of Arms...
