The collection consists of three letters written to Grisby from Ewell, Lamb, and Harrison.

The papers include three letters adressed to Grisby. These include one dated to 1854 from Lamb, 1858 from Ewell, and 1869 from Harrison. The letters all mention the College of William & Mary.

Biographical / Historical

Hugh B. Grisby was a Virginian politican and chancellor of William & Mary (1871-1881) among other roles. He was also a member of the Virginia House of Delegates (1828-1830). He attended Yale, served as a lawyer, and operated the plantation of Edgehill.
