Scope and Contents

The collection includes four sketches of costumes by William Ivey Long including two dresses for the character Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, one sketch from The Producers, and another sketch of costumes from the ballet The Blue Necklace. The collection also includes photographs, a fabric sample of from Edna Turnblad's Pucci dress, and other items.

Biographical Information:

William Ivey Long is 5-time Tony winning costume designer for Broadway, television, and film productions.

Long is the son of Mary and William Ivey Long, Sr., a Winthrop University professor. Long attended the College of William and Mary graduating in 1969.
