Papers and photographs, 1871-1913, bulk 1873-1904, of the Peebles, Watson and Arrington families of Norfolk and Petersburg, Va. Includes letters, primarily from Joseph Littleton Peebles to Kate S. Watson during their courtship and marriage. Also includes genealogical notes. The Peebles farm is a part of the Petersburg National Battlefield Park.

Arrangement of Materials:
Following the correspondence and family documents is a subseries of photographs arranged by individual names, first by gender and then alphabetically. Some folders combine multiple individuals.
Mss. 98 P34 combined Accessions 1997.27 and 1997.55 during processing.
The two boxes were combined into one box, but folder labels still reflect two boxes. July 2009.
