Biographical / Historical

Jackson Morton attended W&M around 1811-1814. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Florida and went into the lumber business. He held several public positions including territorial legislator, U. S. Senator, and Confederate congressman. Morton carried the title of general until his death in 1874.
