Content Description

Three letter from Fannie B. Jones to her friends and Mrs. Powers from Fortress Monroe dating 1867- 1869. Fanny's husband, Henry is in the military and she describes life on the base, her home, the surrounding area of Hampton, Virginia, and the weather. She also gives details about the abundance or lack of specific foods and comments at length on the economic conditions of the community in her new area.
