A letter dated July 12, 1846 to William Boulware from Sidney Brooks of New York. Brooks apologizes for not being in town to meet and entertain Boulware's friends Mr. and Mrs. [Thomas] Dew and reminiscences about previous trips to multiple towns in Italy and Boulware's kindness while on a visit to Naples. Brooks also discusses an article Boulware sent to him on the "Color of the Ancient Egyptians," and refers to Boulware's stance on race and intelligence. He finishes the letter by discussing the Mexican War [Mexican-American War] and economics.
