Concern over his letters not arriving; received a fine letter from "Grand Ma"; numerous expressions of affection and devotion; Uncle Pendergrastreturned from his hunting trip and gave him a cordial greeting; he spends many evenings with him and the Commodore; he is growing "uncomfortably fat," and his ship mates and lady friends say his is becoming quite handsome.
