Spent last night and all day today collecting materials to send to his father; encloses several item [not present],  but only wants the copy of his letter to Mr. Hatchett returned; likes Mr. Hatchett's letter because they give facts; would rather hear facts from him, as well, rather than just his opinions; the weather in the South has improved and there is no further danger to the cotton crop; the receipts at their ports are larger than he had anticipated, since the weather was bad. 2pp. Cy[?] of ALS
