Scope and Contents

Thanks him for getting letters of introduction to Sir Trevelyan, Mr. Forster and other he wanted to talk to; he and some of his American friends in England habe agreed not to be too aggressive in asking for interviews right now, since the situation is so delicatel a motion will be made in Parliament to recognize [the Confederacy], but is not worried that it will be accepted; thanks him for the offer to get better rooms in London, but they will not be staying very long, so it will not be necessary; a word of information from the Clarendon is more influential in England than a word from Lodgings; Frederica sends regards and thanks. 2pp Cy of LS [Cy by Rutson Maury]
