Scope and Contents

Wishes cargo of staves—has shipped brandy to Blow. Also wishes Oak timbers and cedar boards for whale boats and harpoon. Situation of political affairs will influence the exchange. The success of our war against the Emperor and the King of Prussia has made prices fall already. Our success in several battles has recovered from the Emperor the whole Belgick [Belgique] or Flanders, besides the whole kingdom of Savoy.
