Scope and Contents

Wishes to discover the fate of money donated by the Ladies of Virginia, "intended as a donation for the relief of the soldiers of the Virginia, Prisoners of Charles Town, in the year 1780;" states that this money was deposited in the Treasury by Mr. [Thomas] Jefferson and he [JA] would like information concerning the money; lists the women who donated money.
