Report on Cumberland Road has been referred to Committee in House of Representatives. Republican caucus voted Monroe and Tompkins as candidates. "on the subject of the road Monroe was decidedly your friend, his influence was important. I hope it will not be forgotten. However this subject must remain with yourself." Owing to sickness of draftsman in the land office has not been able to procure a map of the Indiana Territory.
