Scope and Contents

This series contains correspondence, subject files, certificates, audiovisual and other material from 1971-1992 related to Evelyn M. Hailey, member of both the Virginia House of Delegates and the Virginia State Senate. The bulk of the papers concern Hailey's life as a politician. Some of the topics expressed in the papers include various bills and legislation proposed by Hailey; Women's Interfaith Dialogue on the Middle East; correspondence of her husband, Robert Hailey, from 1971 to 1975; and certificates of appreciation and service from the State Board of Elections, State Board of Community Colleges, and Old Dominion University. This is a temporary series and will be interfiled into the existing collection in the future.
