While making occasional trips across the Northeast, Rose appears to still be living in New Haven. Her daily routine generally comprises social calls, housework, reading, and writing letters. A few, scattered references to the Second World War include mentions of the Pearl Harbor attack, air raid practice, and United States’ victory over Japan. This is the last of Rose’s diaries.
