Charles Dickens asks the recipient to forward a note to his office in an envelope marked “private” and it will have his attention. Written on Athenaeum Club letterhead stationery. November 17, 1866. Includes an engraving of a portrait bust of Charles Dickens by J.H Baker after a photograph by Mason & Co.,1870.
